my favorite spicy tuna

perfect as an appetizer for a crowd or dinner for a smaller crew

What you need:

1 pound sushi grade tuna (serves ~8 people as an app, ~5-6 people for din)

1/2 c kewpie mayo

1 tbsp gochujang (red chili paste)

1 tsp sesame oil

2 tsp fresh lime juice

1 tsp rice wine vinegar

pinch of salt

additions: jalapeño, cilantro, sushi rice, nori, cucumber, avocado

What you do:

dice your tuna. some people like a really fine dice, but I like sizeable cubes! Make your sauce by mixing mayo, gochujang, sesame oil, lime juice, vinegar and salt. Add half of the sauce into your diced tuna and mix until combined. Depending on desired level of sauciness, add more. chill until ready to serve.

for an appetizer, serve on tortilla chips topped with thinly sliced jalapeño, a cilantro leaf, a squeeze of lime, and pinch of flaky salt.

for a meal, prepare sushi rice (I like this recipe), nori (cut into squares), sliced avocado and thinly sliced cucumber. Assemble your bites (pictured above) and enjoy!
